A Simple Guide to Everyday Magic

Ritual isn’t complicated. It’s a way of bringing presence to the moment—of turning the ordinary into something meaningful.
Here’s how to begin, with just a cup and your attention.

1. Set the Scene

Find a quiet, comfortable space.
Clear a little surface or corner—just enough to feel like this moment matters.
Let your breath slow. Let gratitude rise.

2. Create a Simple Altar

Place a candle, a flower, a stone—anything that feels beautiful or grounding.
No rules. Just what feels right.
Let it be a reflection of your energy today.

3. Prepare Your Cacao

  • Add your cacao discs or shavings to a favorite cup.

  • Heat water or plant milk to just before boiling (around 170°F).

  • Pour over the cacao and stir or whisk until smooth and creamy.

Let the process be slow. Let it feel like part of the ritual.

4. Connect with the Medicine

Hold your cup close to your heart.
Take a few breaths.
Set an intention—something simple like “presence,” “ease,” or “clarity.”
Offer your breath, your awareness, your thank you.

5. Honor the Journey

Take a moment to acknowledge where this cacao came from—
the hands that grew it, the earth that nourished it, the spirit that moves through it.
This is a gift. Drink with reverence.

6. Sip Slowly

Let each sip be a pause.
No rush.
Just presence.
Notice what stirs—emotion, memory, sensation.
Let cacao guide you back to yourself.

7. Reflect + Write

When your cup is empty, open your journal.
What are you ready to release?
What are you calling in?
Write freely. With curiosity, not judgment.

8. Keep It Simple. Keep It Yours.

There’s no “right” way to do this.
Let the ritual meet you where you are.
Some days it might be 5 minutes, others 30.
It can be a quiet moment before the kids wake, or a grounding pause between meetings.

✧ My Journey with Cacao

A Living Relationship with the Spirit of the Tree.

I was first introduced to cacao at the roots—in Costa Rica, December 2021—on a thriving permaculture farm where everything whispered, yes, this too is possible.
There, amidst the trees and their generous pods, I tasted cacao in her purest form.
The bitterness, the sweetness—it stirred something ancient in me.
My steps lightened.
My senses sharpened.
I felt kin with the plants and a deeper awareness of the relationships that nourish us—above and below the ground.

Since then, I’ve been listening, learning, and walking gently with cacao as my teacher.
The more integrated and reverent the source, the more joyful the medicine becomes.
There’s an unmistakable lightness that comes from cacao grown and shared with awareness—where reciprocity, not extraction, guides the process.

When I rooted in Santa Monica, I began sharing her magic in circles. I witnessed how cacao opened hearts and softened edges, how it made room for connection and truth-telling.
I was mentored by Jona of Ora Cacao, who deepened my understanding of how to engage with this spirit consciously, with care.

To me, cacao is a gentle revolutionary.
She is joy’s perspective.
A bridge between the ancient and the emerging.
Her fruit is the colostrum of the new earth paradigm—offering nourishment, warmth, and a return to the heart.

This is a living relationship. Quinta Cacao is an evolving offering—ethically sourced, rooted in reciprocity, and born from gratitude. I partner with farmers and communities whose practices are grounded in reverence and sustainability. As this journey continues, the regions and sources may shift, but the prayer remains the same:

May this cacao remind us that the trees are our teachers.
May it bring more grace, more acceptance, more ease of being.
